Fort Myers’ Bonefish Grill |
Bonefish Grill, 14261 S. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, (239) 489-1240, bonefishgrill.com. Interior updates were unveiled in the summer, including opening up the wall between the bar and seating area with floating wine bins and artwork.
Fort Myers Brewing Company, 12811 Commerce Lakes Drive, Suites 27-28, Fort Myers, (239) 313-6576, facebook.com/FMBrew. The city’s first microbrewery is all grown up: By fall, it tripled the size of the taproom and graduated from plastic to glass pints. More reason to put Food Truck Rally Thursdays on your calendar.
Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, 400 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, (239) 394-2511, marcoislandmarriott.com. Ario replaced Kurrents (giving it a face-lift in the process), and other dining changes will unfurl as the resort becomes a top-tier JW Marriott over the next year.
Mediterrano, 336 13th Ave. S., Naples, (239) 261-7498, mediterrano-naples.com. An expansion into the space next door is being worked on for season, debuting before the holidays. A new chef is also on board and has revised the menu.
Naples Beach Brewery, 4120 Enterprise Ave., Naples, (239) 304-8795, naplesbeachbrewery.com. In time for its third anniversary, Naples’ first craft brewery expanded to create a full-service taproom and added color with an impressive mural. Check its Twitter account for news on different pitmasters who sell barbecue in the parking lot on weekends, creating a block party of sorts.
PierSide Grill and Famous Blowfish Bar, 1000 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, (239) 765-7800, piersidegrill.com. The interior and exterior were remodeled at this beach-side spot with softer tones.
The Sandy Parrot, 17200 S. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, (239) 454-8454, thesandyparrot.com. The live music venue with a restaurant and tiki bar got a soup-to-nuts overhaul, including the tropical menu.
Slate’s, 4820 Candia St., Cape Coral, (239) 540-6800, slatescapecoral.com. The popular place dishing up a taste of New Orleans has taken over the space next door and is in the final permitting stage to open a jazz lounge. Connected to the main dining room, it will open near the end of dinner service for live acts and will have an abbreviated bar menu.
Trail Café and Grill, 12820 Tamiami Trail N., Naples, (239) 598-2480, trailcafenaples.com. This charming breakfast and lunch spot with delectable pastries is reopening this winter, likely by the end of December, with a completely remodeled dining room.
