Morning Fog by David Kidd

Gardner Colby Gallery has us Contemplating Nature with its latest exhibit, featuring three very different artists with the common thread of flora-focused work March 2-16. The mesmerizing organic assemblages of Ran Adler are weaved and wired to hang from the ceiling or be mounted to the wall in an exploration of repetition and primal forces. David Kidd’s acrylic-on-birch panel pieces have the comforting, ethereal effect of peering at your favorite tree through a rain-streaked window. Doug Foltz gives us moody paintings of landscapes and seascapes, many reminiscent of a moment in time in our treasured Southwest Florida. And each artist succeeds in making us feel small in the best way, as we should feel in the face of glorious Mother Nature.
