Although all eyes were on the shiny new ipe (Brazilian hardwood) when Naples’ top attraction reopened after a prolonged renovation, beach snacks also got a bump with the debut of Cosmos at the Pier, a food stand from the owner of Cosmos Café & Pizzeria. A perennial favorite in our Best of the Gulfshore reader poll, Cosmos’ pies are baked daily at the main location on U.S. 41 and brought to the branch hovering over the Gulf. Its tiny kitchen is equipped with ovens and pizza stones that bring the oomph (a great crispiness) back to the individual slices.

The beachside menu is succinct—cheese, pepperoni and sausage slices and a short list of salads and sandwiches (in other words, don’t expect Cosmos Part Due)—but if a slice or two of paradise is what you’re after, you couldn’t ask for much better.
