The Natural Way

Salvaged wood makes for a stunning conversation piece in this coffee table.

BY August 22, 2016

A lighting-stuck or hurricane-tumbled tree could become your next table. For more than three decades, Taracea founder Javier Suárez has transformed wood salvaged and reclaimed throughout Mexico into hand-veneered works of art with intricate detailing and techniques harkening to the 1300s. Now employing more than 350 woodworkers and artisans, the family-owned business is dedicated to using recovered, reclaimed and reforested work. Taracea’s Marquetry Mix coffee table combines a contemporary shape with classic veneer inlays including florals, foliage and scrolls.

On sale right now for $1,535 at E.M. Soberon, Miromar Design Center, Estero.
