Southwest Florida Visitors' Guide: Sports & Recreation

BY January 12, 2017

As a land of sunshine and salty waters, Southwest Florida is best experienced outdoors. Whether by shore or by sea, we encourage you to get outside and get moving with the myriad options available.

The aquatically inclined should consider signing up for a scuba course with one of the many local education centers or taking a sailing course, through which you can learn the ropes like a total pro. The family that likes to fish can check out one of the exciting charter companies included in this guide, which offer full- and half-day charter trips both close to the shore and at deep-sea levels.

Land lubbers visiting the area, fear not: There are plenty of high-quality tennis courts and championship golf courses at your disposal. No matter which activity sets you in motion, the Gulfshore will ensure you don’t stop.
