Earth Day is a Sunday (April 22) this year, a perfect time to get reacquainted with Mother Nature. Here, we’ve highlighted a few of the festivities happening this weekend. Check out our calendar for more.

Rookery Bay (April 20): The Environmental Learning Center is offering buy-one-get-one-free tickets on Friday.

Conservancy of Southwest Florida (April 21): Enjoy a day of family-friendly entertainment, crafts, food and a chance to meet some critters.

J.N. “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge (April 21): Take a bike tour through the Sanibel refuge and make some creative crafts out of recyclable material. Also, be on the lookout for the bag monster.

Lee County’s Great American Cleanup (April 21): Volunteer to pick up trash and otherwise tidy up your corner of Soutwest Florida in this annual Keep Lee County Beautiful event.

Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium (April 22): There will be kids’ activities, animal encounters—and even a pie-eating contest.
