It can feel as though all the action, and therefore fun, dies down with the end of season. But to that we say, “Not so”—you just have to know where to look. One place still dishing out signature Southwest Florida flair every year come May is Fort Myers Beach, which hosts the annual Taste of the Beach on Old San Carlos Boulevard. (May 6 is the 23rd incarnation.) Live music and a “vendor village” act as the backdrop to local eateries putting forth samples of their cuisine. They’re competing for category honors, too, so we think it’s safe to say we can expect some of their best work.
