The Best Running Shoes Are …

The ones that least resemble shoes.

BY August 3, 2018

A new study published in Nature found that those funny-looking shoes with the toes (aka Vibram FiveFingers and its ilk) or minimal sneakers (see the New Balance Minimus line) are actually better for the feet in the long run. Basically, minimal shoes “toughen up” your feet a bit more, making you less prone to fallen arches and other foot problems. Minimalist shoes can take some time to get used to; your feet will feel like they’re going through a workout. But in the long run, so to say, your feet will thank you.
