A New View at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center

BY March 12, 2019

Do you know your ABCs? This month alone there’s A, for Authors lecturing as part of an ongoing Famous Author Lecture Series. B, for the Beatles, as quartet The Mersey Beatles brings the magic of the Fab Four. And C, for Calidore String Quartet, performing world-class chamber compositions. Every letter of the alphabet is covered in the broad mission of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center.

This year, perhaps the most notable letter is G, for “Gala on the Rooftop.” The Feb. 28 grand opening of SBDAC’s rooftop space, which overlooks downtown Fort Myers, ushered in a new era for the center.

“It will be known as Sidney’s on the Rooftop,” says Executive Director Jim Griffith. “The new space … will allow us to extend our programming by not only showcasing amazing outdoor sculptures for the public to view but (also by including) a stage area that will host regular music series like jazz, songwriter and electronic music.”

A great addition to the SBDAC—and SWFL—alphabet.
