Sweet Somethings: Nothing Bundt Cakes Now Open in Naples

Southwest Florida gets a local branch of the winsome bakery.

Before I even heard of a new bake shop that had opened in a plaza on Pine Ridge and Goodlette-Frank roads, an email landed in my inbox from a friend—I just had to try the ultra-moist, cream cheese-frosted cakes the franchise specialized in that were baked daily on-premise.

Her journey with Nothing Bundt Cakes began more than a decade ago when she first started dating her now-husband. He raved about what he considered nothing short little masterpieces of eggs, butter and flour that he’d gotten from the original store that launched in Las Vegas during his high school days in 1997—there was so much love there that she had a carrot cake-flavored one shipped to Florida for his birthday.

Now, 12 years later, there’s a local hookup to satisfy their sweet tooth, and I’m thrilled it’s only a 5-minute drive from my office and home as well.

The shop is for walk-ins and advance orders (there are no tables or benches to sit and munch), and the menu is limited to 8-inch bundts, 10-inch bundts, personal-size “bundtlets” and bite-size “bundtinis,” all with the signature cream cheese frosting.

The fun comes from the nine forever flavor selections (chocolate chocolate chip, classic vanilla, red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, confetti, carrot, lemon, marble and pecan praline) and one rotating seasonal one (the opener is strawberries and cream)—plus, a ton of cute little extras to make them look as sweet as they taste. (There’s a whole laminated book of décor ideas for bigger cakes, plus grab-and-go things next to the register, like candles, balloons and themed toothpick toppers.)

The cakes are delicious chilled and stay good in the fridge for days, but do as I did and warm them up a bit for a whole different ooey-gooey experience that got me hooked.
