Craft Beer Boom Continues with New Ale Trail Passport

Drink locally, be rewarded.

BY May 14, 2019

It’s hard to think of a better way to spend a lazy summer afternoon than with drafts of ice-cold suds. Add in some fun like corn hole, a bite or two from our flourishing food truck scene, or even yoga, and a weekend at a taproom becomes a recipe for a great one.

And as if we needed more incentive—but, hey, are any of us the kind to turn freebies away?—the SWFL Ale Trail has released a new passport. Volume III rewards you for drinking your way around our 19 microbreweries over the course of a year.

It’s hard to believe that when the program launched in 2017, there were only 11 breweries signed on in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. Now, 19 participating breweries sell the $17 passports (you can also buy them online), and then it’s up to you to visit as many as possible. It’s easy: Order a beer, collect stamps and rack up rewards. If you stop by 12—there are five in Naples alone—you’re covered with BOGO pints anywhere until February 2020 (when this round of passports ends). Even if you don’t go beyond your comfort zone, just having a passport adds up to deals at local bars and restaurants. But it’s a refreshing excuse to be adventurous—and to support local businesses.
