Golden PAWS Puppy Naming Reception

BY July 10, 2019

Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs recently held an open house and special puppy naming ceremony on June 26 with donors and special guests in attendance.

The reception was overflowing with faces of cuteness – the Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs’ newest puppy cadets. Guests enjoyed a chance to cuddle the puppies and have their photos taken with one of the nine new cadets.

Kyle Reed, President of the board of directors of Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs, welcomed guests and introduced Steve Loyd, president of Take a Soldier Fishing. The volunteer organization has sponsored three assistance dogs over the past several years and took the opportunity to surprise one of their board members by naming their newly sponsored puppy after Kevin Johnson.

According to Loyd, Johnson is one of the most dedicated working members of Take a Soldier Fishing and has raised more money than anyone else to support the organization’s efforts to raise funds to sponsor assistance dogs for local veterans.

Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs is a non-profit organization that promotes independence for combat wounded veterans and children with life-changing disabilities through partnerships with skilled assistance dogs.

Helping to make the night successful were Crave Culinaire who catered the reception and Mitch’s Cookies who provided cookies for everyone’s sweet tooth.
