Two New Indian Restaurants Coming this Summer to Naples Area

BY July 16, 2020

Two new Indian restaurants are planning to launch this summer in the Naples area. Up first will be Le Indya at 975 Pine Ridge Road in North Naples. Longtime regional restaurateur Suman “Sam” Chaniyil plans to serve authentic Indian cuisine for lunch and dinner in a building that has been home to Loving Hut and many other restaurants. Chaniyil already operates two restaurants in Lee County: India’s Grill in Fort Myers and Spice Club Indian Grill in San Carlos Park. While his existing restaurants focus on cuisine from northern India, his new restaurant targeted to open this month will feature southern Indian cuisine, including many vegan and vegetarian dishes, Chaniyil said.

Meanwhile, Digambar “Chef D” Sahu, co-founder of I Love Curry food truck is expanding his local dining concept with a brick-and-mortar location off Weeks Avenue at 2740 Bayshore Drive in East Naples. Sahu already is fulfilling curbside pre-orders Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from his food truck in the parking lot of the retail strip where his new restaurant will open in August at Gulf Gate South plaza. The new restaurant’s open kitchen will serve a mixture of traditional northern and southern Indian cuisine as well as dishes from his native Mumbai on India’s west coast.
