Chef David Rashty is back in Southwest Florida, and there’s good reason to get excited.
Not only does he have myriad experiences working with some of the biggest names in the food world (Daniel Boulud, Masayoshi Takayama), but he won rave reviews on the Paradise Coast several years ago for his work at the critically-praised Jack’s Farm to Fork as well as Table & Tap in Babcock Ranch.
After his most recent stint in New York, he returned in late 2020 and joined forces with a Roman-born partner, Andrea Marta, to rev up Bella Mia Italian Cafe on Wiggins Pass in Naples (it opened about a year ago). The two are fashioning the breakfast-to-dinner menu with gourmet European coffees, house-baked cannolis and a concise yet craveworthy menu of Italian-American fusion (think: papardelle Bolognese, Keto lasagna with zucchini sheets and seasonal specials such as butternut squash soup with spiced apple crème fraiche).
Sunday brunch with live music has been a hit, and they’re also doing an extensive amount of catering and special events, like a “Tour of Italy” wine dinner on January 23 with local oenophile Marcello Palazzi.
