Feels like time flies, doesn’t it? Actually, it doesn’t have to.
Time management expert Laura Vanderkam, author of Off the Clock: Feel Less Busy While Getting More Done, explains that the perception of time going by quickly is largely because we get stuck in a rut. Look back at your last week. What did you do that was memorable? Chances are it was something outside of your normal routine. Once you climb out of your rut, your perception of time starts to change. Get too caught up in the rat race and you won’t know where the last week went. But go on a quick weekend trip, let’s say, and you’ll see that you do have more time than you thought.
