The fourth annual day of giving seeks to benefit local nonprofits.

Your mission if you choose to accept it: Help raise millions for charity—all within 24 hours.

That’s the challenge presented in the annual Give Where You Live Collier campaign, running from noon Feb. 21 to 11:59 a.m. Feb. 22. Go to GiveWhereYouLiveCollier.org to donate. (Or, drop off a donation at the Community Foundation Office, 1110 Pine Ridge Road, Suite 200.)

This year will be the fourth time the Collier County Community Foundation and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation have hosted the day of giving as a means to give a boost to Naples-area nonprofits. Thirty-eight organizations will be the beneficiaries of the campaign. In additional to the online donations, the community foundation will donate a $100,000 matching fund and the Schulze foundation will match $400,000.

Last year, the campaign raised about $4 million. The idea behind the campaigns is to show that everyone can become a philanthropist—and that it doesn’t take much more than a few minutes online to help out local charities.

“Give Where You Live Collier makes it easy to participate so that everyone has the chance to make a difference in our community, whether you call Collier County home seasonally or year-round,” said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Collier County, in a press release.
