What’s the Next Big Fitness Trend?

Going back to basics, apparently.

The American College of Sports Medicine surveyed more than 4,000 fitness professionals about the next wave of fitness activities, and their answers weren’t about using fancy new equipment—but about getting simpler.

Commercial studios are shifting to more basic programs with minimal equipment. Think kettle bells and lunges. And, people are exercising in a group setting. The idea of zoning out on the fancy new stair climber is starting to lose out to group classes—especially high-intensity interval workouts that are shorter but pack just as much of a punch as a longer, less intense workout.
