Feel Good: Stress Kills

Even if you are in great shape, stress significantly increases your chance of a stroke.

BY July 24, 2014

You need to chill. Seriously. A recent study of more than 6,700 adults over 11 years found that individuals with chronic stress are 59 percent more likely to have a stroke than people who don't experience much anxiety. Yikes. Most shockingly, researchers eliminated other risk factors in the study, such as weight or diabetes. That means even if you are in terrific physical shape, eat right and exercise regularly, if you're seriously stressed out, you're at risk. So if that sounds like you, it's time to look into yoga or meditation or some time at the beach. Chant with us—Ommmmm.
