Valerie’s House, a Southwest Florida nonprofit dedicated to helping grieving children heal after the loss of a loved one, will hold its annual signature event, Sunset Soiree, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, 18520 Miromar Lakes Blvd.
Florida Gulf Coast University President Michael Martin and his wife, Jan Martin, will serve as honorary chairs for the second year in a row.
“Valerie’s House is a haven for children and families who have lost a parent or loved one,” Mrs. Martin said. “We are honored to support this important cause once again and hope the community will join us to lift up those who grieve and walk along with them on their journey of healing.”
ABC7 evening news anchor, Krista Fogelsong, will emcee the event, which includes an open bar cocktail hour along Miromar Lakes Beach and a gourmet-seated dinner inside. The highlight of the evening will be a special program introducing children of Valerie’s House and showcasing a gallery of their artwork.
The annual event provides a substantial investment in Valerie’s House life-changing, healing programs that include support groups for grieving children, their parents, families and other caregivers at no cost.
