Angelina’s Ristorante will host a Fontina Cheese wine dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. A second seating for the wine dinner will also be available on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The tastings will occur at the restaurant, located at 24041 S. Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, FL.
Featuring Fontina cheese direct from the Valle d’Aosta region of Italy in every dinner course, the wine dinner will offer a decadent five-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Ryan Fredstrom. The tasting is designed to pair authentic and unmatched Italian flavors from Angelina’s kitchen with exquisite wines from Angelina’s 30-foot wine tower chosen by Dinah Leach, Wine Director and Sommelier.
The first course will boast portabella mushroom stuffed with Fontina cheese, breadcrumbs, and guanciale served with a 2018 Abbazia di Novacella Kerner, Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC. The second course will marry rich tastes as it features Fontina fondue with crushed hazelnuts, eggplant jam, and French baguettes paired with a 2018 Tramin “Stoan,” Alto Adige DOC.
In the third course, savory flavors will shine as a 2015 Chateau Feuillet Torrette, Valle d’Aosta DOP is coupled with smoked ham hock, Fontina cheese, and baked pasta served with house-made pork sausage. The fourth course will include pork crown rack “Prince Orloff” with mushrooms, Mornay sauce, Fontina cheese, haricot verts, and Dutch marble potatoes paired with a 2015 Conterno “Nervi” Gattinara DOCG.
The dessert course will finish off the tasting with vanilla panna cotta and a pumpkin spice latte.
