11:30 AM untill 02:30 PM

Description

The historic Bank of Everglades Building was completed in 1927 after Barron Collier's new headquarters for his massive landholdings in Southwest Florida were built in Everglades City, the first seat of Collier County. The Bank served the local government and businesses until 1962 after which it became a boarding house and Bed & Breakfast. The building has been vacant for several years and was donated by its generous owner to the Everglades Society for Historic Preservation (a 501c3 not-for-profit) who are renovating it to be used as a Visitor Center with boutique offices and artists' studios upstairs. During the EXCLUSIVE TOUR (limited to only 10 people), you will learn more about this dignified landmark before lunch at the famous Rod & Gun Club and a guided walk-through of the building. Participants will receive a framed numbered print of an original watercolor and other goodies in a special tote bag. Then, they can meander across the street for a visit to the Museum of Everglades.
