Babcock Ranch, America’s first solar-powered town located just northeast of Fort Myers on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31, is hosting the Festival of Kites in Jack Peeples Park Saturday, January 25 from noon to 5 p.m., rain or shine.   This family friendly event features a day of fun and free kite kits for children while supplies last, along with tours of Babcock Ranch’s model homes and food truck tastings.   Bring a chair or blanket and watch world-renowned kite makers and fliers showcase their talents in large kites and inflatables with flying demos.   Air-conditioned shuttles will be available for self-guided tours of more than two dozen furnished Babcock Ranch model homes open for viewing. Guests who register online will be invited to sample menu items from local favorite food trucks at every stop.
