Introduction to Florida Gardening – Part 1

Description

This class will provide the foundation of how plants work, their nomenclature, and highlight the unique weather patterns and unusual soils found only in Florida Zone 10. Learn how to identify native plants, ornamentals, and recognize invasive plants established by the State of Florida. The last 20 minutes of the session will take place in the Palmetum, where the horticulture of palm trees will be discussed. Bring a notebook, pencil and bottle of water to class. Hats, sunscreen, and good walking shoes are recommended for the outdoor portion. Advance registration is required at edisonford.org. Class is limited to 25 participants.   Edison Ford members: $35; non-members: $50
