Description

On September 28, 2019, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is hosting our 2nd Annual 5K Sunset NAMIWalks. The celebration begins with a festival at 5:00 p.m. at Centennial Park with food vendors, live music, In Your Own Voice presentations, community resource area, kids zone and much more. At 7:00 pm the scenic 5K sunset walk begins at the edge of Centennial Park, continues along the Caloosahatchee River and across Edison Bridge and back. Our goal this year is to have over 1,000 people come out to show their support and celebrate our friends and families that struggle everyday with mental illness. It is the one day out of the year where we can show our strength and walk together as a community. Form a team, come out to walk, or bring your family and help us #FillTheBridge and take a step toward ending the stigma surrounding mental illness.
The walk is free and a family and pet friendly event. To register or find more information, check out our Facebook or visit our website at https://namilee.org/namiwalks_swfl/.
