Naples Concert Band’s January Concert in the Park

Date/Time

02:00 PM untill 04:00 PM

Description

The first concert of the New Year will feature the fabulous Naples Philharmonic violinist Glenn Basham and outstanding vocalist Jodi Keogan.  Basham will premiere a special arrangement of Sinatra songs written by Lou Del Gatto as well as the showy Vittorio Monti “Csardas”.  This will be Keogan’s first performance with the NCB and she will impress with “Habaneras” from Carmen and Lerner and Loewe’s “I Could Have Danced All Night”.  The NCB Trumpet section will also be called to the front of the stage to be featured in the challenging “Summit” by John Moss.  Offenbach’s “Overture to La Belle Helene”, Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” and Steven Bulla’s arrangement of “Selections from the Great Race” will provide the 80-member band with plenty of room to flex its musical muscles. For 48 years the Naples Concert Band has entertained Southwest Florida residents with memorable Sunday Concerts in the Park.  With more than 20 great feature soloists and inventive programing the 2019 - 2020 concert season promises to impress with music that everyone will enjoy.  Each of the band’s eight concerts offer its large audiences an exciting mix of new music and memorable old favorites. Admission to all Naples Concert Band performances is free, with donations appreciated.  Donations received at each concert help defray expenses and help with The Band's Scholarship Fund, which has awarded over $120,000 to over 100 students since its inception in 1984.   For more information about the Naples Concert Band, please call the NCB Hotline at 239.270.1221 or visit www.NaplesConcertBand.org.  For those interested in becoming a member of the band, please contact Frank Burgeson at 239.598.2082.
