Description

Concert goers are in for a real treat at the March 1 Concert in the Park.  Mark Sanders and Heather Vichevich, both powerhouse singers, will present selections from the Broadway play “Carousel” and perform separate solos.  Sanders will sing “When You Tell Me That You Love Me’ and Vichevich will sing “Memory” from Cats.  FGCU student and NCB Scholarship winner, Logan Fischer, will also be featured in the Paul Dukas’ Fr. Horn solo “Villanelle”.  Not to be outdone, the NCB Tuba Section will have some fun with a “tongue and cheek” arrangement of “Tiptoe through the Tubas”.  Antonin Dvorak’s “Finale from the New World Symphony”, local composer Pasquale Spino’s “Sound Dramas”, Robert Buckley’s swing masterpiece “Jitterbug” and David Marshall’s “Big Fun in the Sun” round out this entertaining program. For 48 years the Naples Concert Band has entertained Southwest Florida residents with memorable Sunday Concerts in the Park.  With more than 20 great feature soloists and inventive programing the 2019 - 2020 concert season promises to impress with music that everyone will enjoy.  Each of the band’s eight concerts offer its large audiences an exciting mix of new music and memorable old favorites. Admission to all Naples Concert Band performances is free, with donations appreciated.  Donations received at each concert help defray expenses and help with The Band's Scholarship Fund, which has awarded over $120,000 to over 100 students since its inception in 1984.
