The Southwest Florida Symphony Society will host their annual gala on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at La Venezia Ballroom, 4646 SE 10th Place in Cape Coral. Themed “For the Love of Music,” the special evening will celebrate famous composers throughout history and feature a served surf and turf dinner, an open bar, musical entertainment by the fabulous Riverside Band, exciting silent and live auctions, and a photobooth to capture memories with friends. The annual gala serves as the society’s major fundraising event of the year to support the Southwest Florida Symphony. For more than 50 years, the Southwest Florida Symphony Society has existed as the symphony’s all-volunteer auxiliary fundraising arm. Each year, society volunteers put in nearly 20,000 hours and donate between $20,000 and $100,000 to the symphony. The society provides concert ambassadors, staff services at the symphony office and housing for musicians, as well as hosting a wide range of special fundraising projects with all proceeds going directly to benefit the orchestra. Additionally, the society helps support the Southwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra and manages several music scholarship competitions for the benefit of young music students.
