Description

The Planned Giving Council (PGC) of Lee County will present the 2019 Planned Giving Symposium on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Florida Southwestern State College.   The keynote speaker is charitable gift planning educator and coach, Dana J. Holt, JD RICP AEP, of HOLT Consulting who will present “Turning Wealth Into What Matters TM” Holt will provide a day’s immersion in how to:
  • Unlock donors' wealth by understanding how assets work
  • Uncover countless more gift opportunities by understanding how non-cash gifts coincide with specific life events
  • Commit to growth and define exciting new growth goals
  • Implement new found knowledge and reap the rewards
“Only 10% of America's wealth is held in cash, the rest of our wealth happily spends its days living as things like real estate, life insurance, retirement accounts, and other interesting assets,” said Holt.  “Even though that’s where the real money is charities constantly “chase the checkbook” for donations and donors focus on giving from their checking accounts rather than the other 90% of their assets.  Through the Turning Wealth Into What Matters™ program organizations will learn exactly what they need to know to spot big giving opportunities that have been passing them by.”   “Dana Holt is a dynamic, engaging, and entertaining speaker with 2 decades of hands-on client experience,” said Trevor Whitley, president of The Planned Giving Council of Lee County. “This is an excellent opportunity for non-profit professionals, board members, volunteers, and community leaders to have an engaging day of education and networking,”   Holt is a charitable gift planning educator, coach, and professional speaker. She teaches fundraisers how to raise millions more by accessing wealth, not just cash - and teaches advisors how to grow their practice with the power of philanthropic planning.  Before starting HOLT Consulting Dana began her career as an estate planning attorney and then spent 13 years at a Fortune 300 Financial Services company. There she helped advisors all over the U.S. with their most complex cases and taught them how to integrate charitable planning into their practice.  Now she focuses exclusively on teaching charitable planning through professional speaking and her first-of-its-kind coaching program, Turning Wealth Into What Matters™. Dana is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law and Southern Illinois University. Sponsors include Florida SouthWestern State College, Hughes, Snell and Co., P.A., Myers Brettholtz and Co., P.A., Certified Fund Raising Executive, and Hope Healthcare Services. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. Early bird registration is $50 until May 25, 2018. After May 25, registration is $60.
