Bottoms Up: Coquito Mojito at Big Blue Brewing



Wait a minute! What’s rum doing at a brewery? Simple. A certain Southwest Florida entrepreneur has developed a knack for producing both. JoAnn Elardo, founder of the award-winning Wicked Dolphin artisan rum, has launched Big Blue Brewing in Cape Coral. It has all the trappings of a beer joint—it’s an open-all-day gathering place with live music, flat-screen TVs and ever-flowing taps (try the honey ale made with nectar from local bees). But Elardo didn’t want a one-sided watering hole, so she made sure to have a full menu of elevated pub grub along with a craft cocktail list touting drinks like the Coquito Mojito, a smooth mix of Wicked Dolphin’s crystal and coconut rums.
