Celebrate National Honey Bee Day at Edison and Ford Winter Estates

In celebration of National Honey Bee Day on August 17, the public is invited to learn about bees and native plants for pollinators at Edison Ford Winter Estates. The days' itinerary includes a live honey extraction demonstration, a honey bee lecture by David Westervelt with the Florida State Beekeepers Association, and Tony Mauriello and Kara Tyler- Julian from the Coccoloba Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will give a presentation on Florida native plants for pollinators. There will be local honey available for sale and tasting and information tables with guests from the Florida Native Plant Society, Florida State Beekeepers Association, and Solitary Bee Homes. Florida native and other pollinator plants will be available for purchase. This free event does include admission to the homes, gardens, museum, or laboratory.
