Description

Whether it’s a first-time purchase or someone looking to expand or divest their collection, Emillions Art is hosting an event for all levels of art collecting. “Are you buying for investment, collection or the love of art? Once you figure out your motives, your decisions become easier. For the love of art…buy what you like—and buy to keep.” For the investment buyer, “Think of your collection as your estate,” adds Marlissa Gardner, global art consultant and owner of Emillions Art, LLC in Naples. A private showing will be held on December 18 for VIPs at the Emillions Art showroom for serious collectors. The collection will remain for public viewing from December 19 through the holidays, ending on January 8, 2020. Emillions will showcase several modern master limited edition artworks. Curated by Ms. Gardner, pieces include a pencil drawing by Picasso as well as works by Pissarro, Tarkay, Calder, and several other well-known 20th century masters. “This exhibition is a good time to dip your toe in the water and start your art collection while learning to navigate the auction world,” says Ms. Gardner. Buying limited edition hand signed prints or smaller original works can be a great way to acquire pieces by famous artists at more affordable prices, but they can also serve as a great addition to an all-around collection (or investment portfolio) that covers an entire body of work by a certain artist (paintings, drawings and prints). Since limited editions cost only a fraction of the price of a painting or a photograph; prints are also a great way for new art collectors to kick off their collection.
