Everglades Wonder Gardens has launched a Lunch and Learn series that features a rotating schedule of interactive education topics. The monthly events will be held in the recently opened Robert & Karin Moe Tea House from 12 to 1 p.m.:
  • 18: “Staghorn Start-Up” – Learn how to mount your staghorn for optimal growth.  Includes a staghorn starter to take home.
 
  • 15: “A Succulent Dish” – Learn how to make a mini succulent garden in a small dish. Understand the needs for the succulent and how to maintain and help them flourish in this mini environment.
 
  • 19: “Orchid Moving Day” – Learn how to re-pot an orchid as well as ongoing orchid care in its new home.
 
  • March 18: “Garden Color in Time” – Learn about Florida annuals and perennials that will give you that pop of color in your garden. Learn how, when ­­and where to plant these "timely" flowering plants.
 
  • April 15: “Garden Play in May” – Tend to your Florida garden in spring.  Learn what to plant and why in the springtime of Florida. Learn how to prepare your garden for the summer months before you head up North.
 
  • May 20: “Ferns in the Light” – Learn which ferns to plant based on the light in your garden. Shade ferns and sun ferns will be the subject with tips on how to plant for best results.
  Each event is $18 for members and $23 for nonmembers, and include a gourmet boxed lunch from Survey Cafe. Each event is open to the first 24 people to sign up.
