The Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking will host its 4th annual fundraising gala, “Taste of Freedom: Through the Looking Glass,” on Saturday, Nov. 2. Taste of Freedom is a fundraising event designed to raise awareness about human trafficking in Southwest Florida, as well as empower and support victims. Tickets for the event are $125 each and are now available for purchase online at http://slavefreeflorida.org/taste-of-freedom-gala/. Eight top tables can also be purchased for $900. Funds raised at the event will aid in servicing victims of human trafficking in Southwest Florida and help partners provide housing for minor victims. WINK-TV’s Amanda Hall and Corey Lazar will serve as the gala’s emcees. Now in its fourth year, the charity gala hopes to raise funds to create a long-term residential program, solving part of the trafficking problem – how to best help victims after they’ve been rescued. The gala is open to the public and will include chef stations, wine, silent and live auctions, and a raffle. Participating restaurants include Bahama Breeze, Bonefish Grill, Cantina Laredo, DaRuMa, Divieto Ristorante, The French Brasserie Rustique, Trattoria Mia and 3 Pepper Burrito Company.
