Executive Chef Aldo Novoa Rodriguez welcomes local residents and resort guests to a festive evening marking Día de los Muertos at Ría, the resort’s Latin-inspired, al-fresco restaurant, with a buffet of modern Mexican cuisine, a signature welcome beverage, live entertainment, and holiday-inspired face painting and crafts for children.
Celebrated throughout Latin America and across the world, Día de los Muertos (or Day of the Dead) serves as a remembrance holiday reuniting the living with fond memories of the departed. Families celebrate beloved ancestors with meals and music in their honor, plus traditional commemorations including elaborate home altars, traditional flowers, and colorful décor.
“This is one of the most important celebrations for families in Mexico and much of the Latin world,” explained Executive Chef Aldo Novoa Rodriguez. “This evening is about celebrating the ties that connect us as families. Our Ladies and Gentlemen are very proud to gather our community and celebrate at Ría.”
Born and raised in Mexico City, Chef Aldo was inspired to infuse Mexican cultures and the fresh markets of Central America in a uniquely modern interpretation of Latin cuisine at Ría. Using local ingredients and traditional techniques, the resort’s signature restaurant delivers authentic flavors to a new-world menu that features celebrated dishes from across the region.
