exhibition April 1 - 12, 2019

This is our 15th solo exhibition for the American master Will Barnet since we first started representing him in 1970. It is however our first exhibition dedicated entirely to his rarest works from the 1940’s.   During the 1930’s he created many prints but the 1940s saw a greater devotion to oil painting, most of which were sold during that period to support his young family, aside from what art instruction gave him. After his change of style in the early 1950s the remaining works were seldom exhibited except for the occasional retrospective. During the last few years of the 1940’s he experimented with abstract expressionism during two summers in Danbury, Connecticut.
