Hot Dish: Spiked Sundays at Waterside Shops

BY February 20, 2015

Living in Southwest Florida, we never fail to remind ourselves it’s 5 o’clock somewhere—and it’s a given that drinks with frilly toothpicks or cocktail umbrellas are perfect any time, any place. And just when we thought a lazy Sunday at the Waterside Shops in Naples couldn’t get any better, the center up and added a bloody mary bar (that also serves mimosas!). From noon till 3 p.m. that one glorious afternoon each weekend, guests can now sip as they shop, or take a breather in the central shaded courtyard while listening to live music. Here’s Howe catering runs the cocktail station, and—keeping in line with the current craze of finding oh so much more to put on those frilly toothpicks besides requisite olives and celery—the spread doesn’t disappoint, delivering pickled okra, candied bacon, beef jerky “straws” and more. The cost of the libations (each $5) gets donated to a different charity every month, giving visitors even more reason than they already have to indulge.
