Calendar Highlight: Earth Day at the Refuge

J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge has much in store for the kids tomorrow.

BY April 17, 2015

“Trash talking” gets a whole new meaning at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Earth Day at the Refuge, taking place Saturday, introduces kids to and reminds adults of the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mentality—hike the property, bike its paths, learn all about its wild inhabitants, “upcycle” waste into jewelry and crafts, and more. Kids will love Bagzilla, the mascot who dresses in a year’s worth of a typical consumer’s plastic bags, and grown-ups will love the gorgeous natural view.
