We’ve seen our glittering back-bay and Gulf waters from nearly all angles: kayak, yacht, shoreline, snorkel, swim. Now artist Amy Genser gives us an interpretive glimpse from up above. Her Over the Ocean exhibit, on display Nov. 12 through Dec. 3 at the new East West Fine Art opened by the folks at Gallery on Fifth, presents her interpretation of the natural wonders in boldly colored, dynamic wall pieces of paint and rolled paper. In tandem with the exhibit opening, the gallery will host some of the individuals behind the documentary Paradise Reef—The World is Watching, about the 36 artificial reefs nearing completion off our Southwest Florida coast. artorg.net
