A Sizzling Idea

BY May 6, 2016

A new grill is heating up just in time for summer cookout season.

Craving a brat, but firing up the charcoal (or even turning on the gas) isn’t your thing? No sweat. Naples entrepreneur Shelly Stayer, co-owner of her family’s Johnsonville Sausage, has just the solution.

Surprised by reading market research saying women and millennials were grillophobes, especially when it came to pork, she created a clever fix—a countertop grill that uses a heat probe to let you know when the sausages reach the right internal temperature (in about 13 minutes). To boot, the removable plates are dishwasher safe and the whole thing can be stored upright to save counter space. For anyone who lives in a beachfront condo that bars balcony grilling—but all you want is a brat for the next sunset—this is the mother of necessary inventions.

The Sizzling Sausage Grill ($79.98) is on sale at Johnsonville Sausage Marketplace (6355 Naples Blvd.) or can be purchased by phone (800-472-1879) or by clicking here
