Joyful Juicing Launches Cold Brew—and a Naples Expansion

Known locally for its cold-pressed technique that locks in nutrients, the company has moved into the coffee market and has big plans for growth.

Most of us who delight in a morning glass of orange juice and cup of coffee agree there’s almost nothing better. Now you can get both (with an artisanal twist) from Joyful Juicing in Bonita Springs.

Joyful Juicing founder Hannah Peterson at BaconFest in November 2016, where the company did a test run of its cold brew

The company was created almost exactly two years ago on Nov. 4, 2014, to provide a craft experience for bottled elixirs, all made from organic fruits and vegetables and cold-pressed to preserve the nutrients your body craves at the start of each day. Flavors are familiar, like orange (in “I Am Lifted”), but boosted with healthful extras, such as carrots, lime, cinnamon and turmeric, for added zest and benefits (hello, beta-carotene and anti-inflammatories!).

It was only natural for the next step to be cold brew—a type of coffee made from steeping Arabica beans in water for hours for a raw, highly caffeinated, chilled cup of joe. It also makes sense that when Joyful Juicing bottles it, they’re injecting it with nitrogen gas to infuse a creaminess that makes it best drunk straight-up without any ice.

Collier County commissioners broke ground for a new market that will house Joyful drinks and locavore treats, to open in September 2017.

Everything is made in South Florida and you can order subscriptions for pickup and home delivery. A few stores in the area also carry the line, like Food & Thought and Ada’s Natural Market, and a company site is open to the public on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. if you want a taste (10915 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs). They also just broke ground this fall in Naples for a market selling their drinks along with other local products. It should be open by September 2017, giving Neapolitans another reason to be joyful.
