Let’s be honest: Even if some of us are less than open about it (we’re looking at you, macho men), we all love a good rom-com from time to time. Now, set the story among the charming people, craggy cliffs and rolling greens of the Irish countryside, and we totally devour it. (We love you, Leap Year.) Through Oct. 22, Florida Repertory Theatre delivers those precise feel-good vibes with its Season 20 opener, Outside Mullingar. Playwright John Patrick Shanley—you know, the Pulitzer, Oscar and Tony winner behind Doubt and Moonstruck—provides beautiful bones to work with, and the Rep then brings to life the winding-road romance of moody farmers Rosemary and Anthony.
