In the land of endless summer, we’ve been surprisingly lacking in the outdoor drinking department. A game-changer is the River District’s Downtown Social House. With 100 seats outside (and more within), the biergarten checks off all boxes on our wish list—the patio’s vine-clad walls exude a sophisticated feel, and gourmet bar food is served alongside top-shelf liquor. While wine and beers are plentiful, the carefully crafted cocktails are what grabbed our attention. Many are playful odes to the tropical outdoors, like SoHo’s take on a Moscow mule, kissed by lemongrass in addition to the requisite lime.
