This sophisticated Naples home proves clean-lined design doesn't mean sacrificing comfort.

Three's Company

It was the living room rug that determined the cool neutral color palette for this home at Torino in Grey Oaks in Naples. “We tend to use neutral background palettes, but we stepped out a bit with this one,” says Pacifica Interior Design senior designer Mark Vanagas. “The refreshing blue- and green-grays against creamcolored neutrals, all accented with silver, create a serene, spa-like feeling.”

Because of the home’s open, fl oating floor plan— ideal for entertaining—the palette stayed consistent throughout the entire home. Vanagas and Pacifica CEO Lusia Shafran relied on details to make the design stand out. Above, three single tables—each with a fl ash of chrome for a modern touch—take the place of a standard living room coffee table, and a combination of abstract gallery-wrapped canvases and framed antique book prints “treat old in a modern way,” Shafran says.

Make It Clear

With an open view from the living room into the dining room, Shafran and Vanagas treated the space as “one cohesive thought,” Vanagas says. A blown-glass chandelier centers over a custom-designed lacquer wood table and upholstered chairs with Lucite legs, an unexpected take on a classic.

Fair and Square

The family room is dominated by a custom-designed, dark walnut maple entertainment center with a clean, open approach to a built-in. Designed for comfort without sacrificing style, it’s outfitted with plentiful plush seating options and a large upholstered ottoman.

Shine On

The granite countertop is the standout in the kitchen. Called “green glitter,” the unique stone is replete with blue, gray and green sparkles that reflect the home’s soothing palette and offers what Vanagas refers to as a jewelry-like quality. Frosted glass barrister-style top cabinet doors provide ambient lighting at night.

Beachy Keen

The guest bedroom has a tropical touch, thanks to four shell prints on stretched canvas that play prominently in the room’s design. A wood platform bed and nightstands with geometric circular fronts keep the room on its contemporary track.

Peace of Mind

A simple upholstered bed and custom geometric bedding and draperies are anchored by a divided headboard wall with a subtly darker tone in the middle for visual interest.

Time to Reflect

The master bathroom features onyx-striped flooring inserts, gold Calcutta marble countertops and inlaid mirror custom cabinetry, which serves to elongate the room and lend it a dash of sparkle.
