Weekend Must List: Balloons Over Paradise

Head to Immokalee this weekend for hot air balloons, bands and more.

BY April 24, 2014

See the Immokalee skies like never before with the ever-awe-inspiring Balloons Over Paradise Festival, returning April 26 and 27. Each year has proven better than the last, and specialty balloons kick off the 2014 celebration dark and early Saturday morning with a pre-dawn glow. Upwards of 60 hot air balloons will take to the skies in a breathtaking display, with tethered rides available for $15 well worth the experience. Completing the first-day festivities are an exhibition polo match—the first in Southwest Florida—a classic car show, food vendors, alligator wrestler Billy Walker, Native Village activities and hit ’90s music men Sister Hazel, plus country music act JJ McCoy and popular Southwest Florida regulars the Rachel Hughes Band. The free fun continues Sunday with a more laid-back schedule sans all the shows. seminoleimmokaleecasino.com
