Are We Living in an Allergy Capital?

Cape Coral is about average when it comes to pollen.

BY March 29, 2016

Feeling sneezy this time of year? You’re not alone. Take some solace in knowing that it could be worse—depending on where you live.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation released its annual Spring Allergy Capitals report. The study ranks the major metro areas in the United States based on pollen levels, use of allergy medication among residents and availability of allergists. Cape Coral (Naples was not ranked as part of the study) ended up fairly average in the grand scheme of things. It ranked 47th among the top 100 cities. Its pollen score was middle-of-the-road, as well.

If you do have bad allergies, don’t go to Jackson, Mississippi. The city topped the list for the second year in a row.
