And the winner is … the DASH Diet. Again.
The diet was named the best overall for the seventh straight year in the annual U.S. News and World Report rankings. The diet, developed by the National Institutes of Health, aims to lower blood pressure and keep weight down.
The diet has consistently ranked highly because, well, it works. And it works without being too complex. DASH preaches moderation in eating (without cutting out food groups like whole grains or dairy) and drastic reduction of sweets, red meat and salt.
