Tips for sticking to an exercise routine

Walking: It’s one of the easiest exercises out there and a great way to get into working out if you haven’t been active in a while. But, admittedly, it’s a little boring.

Harvard’s Healthbeat makes several suggestions for keeping your walking routine on track.

-Squeeze it in when you can: Wake up late? Skip the morning walk but take a pair of sneakers with you to work to take a long stroll during lunch hour.

-Treat yourself: Make your walks a special time when you only get to do something else you enjoy. For example, allow yourself to listen to your favorite podcast only while you’re walking.

-Change it up: If you’re getting bored, change your route or maybe invite a friend to come along.
