Think Again Before Wearing Flip-Flops

Hate to spoil the fun, but flip-flops are terrible for your feet.

BY June 6, 2017

The summer heat is here, and it’s pretty easy to just slide on your favorite pair of flip-flops. However, this may not be the best idea for footwear.

In an interview with Business Insider, Dr. Jacqueline Sutera said that when people wear flip-flops, their toes tend to over-grip, which can cause pain in their feet. And, if you wear flip-flops on a regular basis, you could develop plantar fasciitis, an inflammation at the bottom of your feet.

She mentions flip-flops should be used only for pool-side and beach occasions.

Don’t take the risk. Instead, opt for something with more support, such as these podiatrist-recommended sandals.
