Big things are happening at Vibe Yoga in Fort Myers. Founded to help veterans heal from PTSD, the studio has trauma-informed instructors—double-certified via Vibe’s Yoga Alliance-approved Trauma Informed Training program and the three-day, veteran-founded Warriors at Ease training—who adapt sessions based on the participants’ mental and physical needs.

Owner Lindsay Smith recently moved the operation to her family’s sprawling The Barn at Smith Acres in Fort Myers, where mooing cows and crowing roosters accompany yogis. We’re obsessed with Vibe’s Full Moon Yoga, held monthly for up to 40 students. Gathered in a circle, the group runs through moon salutations, bending into shapes that mimic waxing and waning phases. Classes often mirror lunar events: For May’s Flower Moon, Lindsay sent students home with bouquets and seeds to start gardens. If the skies are clear, they’ll gather around a fire after class for a letting-go ritual. “A full moon, in general, is about letting go of what no longer serves you: people, objects, habits,” Lindsay says.

Later this year, sessions get all the dreamier when Vibe debuts its zen garden—slated for December—with a quiet meditation zone and yoga pad surrounded by soothing water features and verdant greenery.
