Step away from the desk!

The majority of us office worker-types tend to sit at our desk and work during our so-called lunch break (close to 80 percent, in fact.) But, we really shouldn’t feel guilty about leaving the office for lunch. It may actually make us better workers.

First off, getting up and moving around is good for the body. But it’s also good for the mind. Taking break from mentally taxing work allows us to recharge and come back more focused and intellectually nimble, according to researchers at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In fact, it’s a good idea to take short mental breaks about every hour or so, according to their study. Just tell your boss this the next time you get caught day dreaming.
